You are looking for ammo box hidden on old highway 36.
There is parking, but this now defunct road has fallen into disrepair and is barricaded.
Cache is beyond barricade in overgrowth. Looks like this might be a hangout for youth as evidenced by all the trash.
Terrain is higher because of overgrowth, including LOTS of PI.
Texas State Highway 36 runs from Abilene to Freeport. Highway 36 has been designated as the 36th Division Memorial Highway commemorating a unit of the National Guard from Texas and Oklahoma that participated in World War I and was reorganized for World War II.
This stretch between Brenham and Kenney was rerouted sometime during the 1970's.
It is interesting to me that this stretch still shows up on my GPS, even though it is now barricaded and completely un-drivable.
