Taken a Dive Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

Chewinprickles: In response to a recent comment I'll let this one go. Despite not being a terrible distance from home it is not a place I visit or pass often so chances of fixing it in the near future is not good. Perhaps one of the locals around Wagga might like to use the space.
Thanks

Geocache Description:

A short, easy, offset multi to highlight a little bit of ingenuity and history, and a great place for a pitstop as you travel past. All the usual outdoor facilities are here!

The title is not a grammatical error as you may suppose but rather is a description of the location as it stands today. It’s not hard to imagine better days with families congregating here complete with picnics and strollers, and the local lads showing off their prowess off the board in order to impress the young ladies and outdo each other.
I suspect that public liability has been at least part of the downfall of the diving board and pool.
(By the way I’d love to add an old photograph of the glory days so if anyone has one I’d be grateful for a copy via email. Also any relevant history would be good too).

I spotted the place as we called in for a cuppa on the way to the recent Oz Mega event and felt that a cache was needed here. Note the way the old tree has grown around the supports for the diving platform!

To find the cache:

Count the number of vertical bars in the fence above. Answer is AB

AB + 15 = CD
AB + 103 = EFG
The cache can be found at S35 40. 3CD & E147 02.EFG

I can see evidence that youngsters possibly frequent the area around GZ so please make every effort to ensure that the cache is out of sight when you leave.
Thanks and Enjoy!
