"Cabbages are extremely windy, whether you take them as meat
or as medicine: yea, as windy meat as can be eaten, unless you eat
bag-pipes or bellows, and they are but seldom eaten in our
days; and Colewort flowers are something more tolerable, and the
wholesomer food of the two."
Nicholas Culpeper, 'A Complete Herbal' - 1653
The common cabbage is
very much a ' love it or leave it vegetable', but I believe it is a
seriously misunderstood brassica and worthy of recognition.
Anything that can 'block organification in thyroid cells'
and can assist in 'recurrent respiratory papillomatosis"
demands such attention. Surely you must agree......
I have therefore dedicated this cache to the humble cabbage -
and all who worship the green folding stuff!!
The cache is hidden near a newish walkway - 20 minutes drive
from Nelson. It can be approached from the north (GPS preference)
or south (my preference). Entering from South should ensure you do
not stray onto private property. I hope you enjoy the area.
