Geocache Description:

I was so excited when I went to hide our 10th cache after all these years that I plum forgot to put the correct coordinates on this page. In order to post the listing, what I did was put in the coordinates of our long since departed first cache instead. Consequently, there's no use going there unless you want to see the ghost of that cache or the ghostly presence of the many of our geocoins that reside therein. In fact, even if our very first cache were still 'alive', this cache would have met the cache saturation guideline distance based on the above coordinates. (For those of you who like 'blasting' Mystery/Puzzle caches, at least that cuts out about 8 hectares from your search area .)

The cache is located within 4 km of the above coordinates.

In order to help you find the coordinates, and therefore the cache, the following information might be of some use:

  • The coordinates are located where every Geocacher can find them, no matter where in the world they are;

  • While there is information on this page that will lead you to the coordinates, there is nothing on this page that will actually give you the coordinates or enable you to figure them out (and that's why there's no coordinate checker);

  • Now, I would never claim to be original but I've never actually found a Mystery/Puzzle cache that uses this method of hiding the coordinates. Therefore, if you check out the Mystery/Puzzle caches we've done, at least you can strike those methodologies off the list;

  • As with all of our caches, no-one knew that this one was coming on line so the FTF was won fair and square. Having said that though, anybody who knows us well might have actually found this cache before it was even approved!

The cache is a 1.75 L Sistema container hidden in a manner that should be quite familiar to Geocachers (I'd rate the hide as a 1½ difficulty). The cache fits quite snugly in its hiding spot so please replace it how you found it. As with all Mystery/Puzzle caches, please try not to make comments in your log, even encrypted ones, that could give a clue to those who follow. Many thanks.

As I've never seen anyone conceal coordinates like this before, I don't have a feel for the difficulty rating so I've plonked it halfway between a 1 and a 5. If people are finding it too easy or too hard, I'll change the rating accordingly but I wouldn't really expect it to differ by more than ±1.

You'll notice once you arrive at GZ that muggles might be present at any time so please take appropriate care retrieving and replacing the cache.

We hope you enjoy our 10th cache and the relatively pleasant walk to it. Thank you for allowing our indulgence and to paraphrase those immortal words of Skyhooks from back in '75:

So if you've got an ego,
You better keep it in good shape,
Exercise it daily,
And go and place a cache
.

To celebrate our 10th hide, there is a nice FTF prize for the lucky person, no trade necessary .

FTF honours go to:
