Geocache Description:

A cache and dash near to RAF Alconbury, parking is available at the given co-ordinates. Container is only large enough for a log roll so please bring own pen.

The cache is named after the nearby "Magic Mountain" - a cold war bunker built to withstand a direct nuclear strike and now listed as an historic building. The Magic Mountain was built in 1989 and was only in active use for 2 years. It was built to ensure that the TR-1A reconnaissance aircraft stationed at RAF Alconbury would always have a command post. The building is now to be used as an emergency facility by Cambridgeshire County Council.

Note that there is no need to even touch the perimeter fence of the base to find this cache.
