Geocache Description:

This Geocache is placed with permission in East Branch Prairie Preserve located on 26th Ave south off Mattawan.


Please park off 26th St (west side), and walk in from there.
There is wildlife everywhere, please watch your step.

Permission was granted for this Geocache by The Nature Conservancy under a 3 Year Land Use Permit # EBP001 , and through the hard work and efforts of MiGO, Michigan Geocachers Org. (see link below). Thank You...

The Old School Series is about hiding the type of caches that got this hobby started, which were larger (non-micro) containers hidden in the woods or other natural settings. It was about the location, in lue of the numbers. Lately it seems that the majority of hides around SW Michigan are micros hidden in any spot that could hold a cache. In this series we are trying to show cachers places outside of the concrete jungle, and get you to venture into the woods and parks that make this State great. These caches will be mostly regulars with some small ones hidden in certain areas. We've placed them in the woods, swamp, river gorges or other setting in nature. Most cachers find this type of hide to be most fulfilling because the cache itself is not a needle in a haystack and can hold swag, travel bugs and other items of interest. Kids love big cache containers. The location of this type of cache is also more enjoyable because it takes you to a place that can be enjoyable and educational. Nothing beats a hike into the woods to find an large size cache. Please feel free to add your own hide to this series.
