a hike full of surprises that skirts around and about both pleasant valley reservoir and the brattleboro watershed forest. this multi-cache is dedicated to my friend connie who passed away this last winter. countless walks on this unique path strengthened our friendship, while also allowing our children to explore the wonders of nature and and our dogs to run rampant not quite to exhaustion. (spotty cell service during the home, so bring a handheld GPS)
allow at least an hour for the hike, especially with children. the distractions are in abundance. depending on the time of year, pack a small towel (someone is sure to get wet). snacks and water are also suggested - because no mater how long you think you will be, it always ends up being longer. once you enter the shire (the small path to the right of the stream towards the third stage), take the time to look for hobbits and fairies. if you don't spot one, surely assist with the housing situation and help build a fairy house or two. this is a six stage multi-cache that will assist you along an unmarked but remarkable trail. at the sixth stage is a five gallon cache filled with connie inspired gifts. enjoy and remember to appreciate the moment.
