Calderwood Traditional Cache
squirrel and nut: This cache has been destroyed once more, less than 11 days since we replaced it. No point in replacing it again.
This was the first ever cache that we put out and it is with a heavy heart that we feel we must archive it.

Short walk into open woodland area.
This area has served several purposes in the past. It has been associated with the shale oil industry, and is now part of a green belt area. The cache can be accessed from several directions, depending on how long a walk you would like. There are some muddy ponds around, and some steep ravines so keep children close. A bit too muddy and rutted for wheelchairs.
The park links through to Almondell at East Calder where there are some more caches.
Please replace the cache as you found it
This can be a busy area for muggles so please take care not to be observed especially when replacing the cache.
Cache placed with the kind permission of the wardens of Almondell & Calderwood Country Park.
Cache moved a little to avoid the path. New coordinates.
