Cecchina è un paese di circa 12.000 abitanti diviso tra i comuni di Albano Laziale - con lo status di circoscrizione -, Ariccia ed Ardea - con il semplice status di frazione,nella provincia di Roma in Lazio.Il paese, di recente sviluppo urbanistico, è incluso nell'area dei Castelli Romani.
Ad inizio 2008, un giovane ricercatore e studente di archeologia, Christian Mauri, ha localizzato con esattezza in Cecchina di Albano Laziale il sito dell'antica città di Lucus Ferentinae (Ferentina), ovvero il luogo sacro ove si riuniva la federazione delle città della Lega Latina.
La Villa comunale del Vescovo è una palazzina in stile liberty circondata da un bel parco verde con pini secolari; fu la residenza del Vescovo della diocesi di Albano Laziale. Oggi di proprietà del comune albanense, ospita i locali della biblioteca comunale di Cecchina e del parco giochi per ragazzi. È stata la prima sede della circoscrizione di Cecchina di Albano Laziale.

[ENG] Cecchina (Italian pronunciation: [t?ek'kina]) is a town located approximately 30 km south-east of Rome in the Italian region of Lazio, in central Italy.
Cecchina is a town of about 12,000 inhabitants divided between the towns of Albano Lazio - with the status of the district - and Ariccia Ardea - the status of simple village in the province of Rome Lazio.This little town is included in the Castelli Romani.
In early 2008, a young researcher and student of archeology, Christian Mauri, localized precisely in Cecchina the site of the ancient city of Lucus Ferentinae (Ferentina), the sacred place where the federation of the Latin league met.
The "Villa del vescovo" (Bishop's Villa), a liberty style building surrounded by a beautiful park with pine trees, was the residence of the Bishop of Albano Laziale. Today it houses the local public library and playground for children. It was the first headquarters of the district of Cecchina Lazio Albano.
