Geocache Description:

This is my first multi cache, so it will be easy if you are a bird watcher and carry a field guide where ever you go. It is a two stage multi and as the name implies it will take you to a couple of spots that I used to visit often when I lived in the area. Both areas offer diversity in flora and fauna. I hope you'll take the time to enjoy both areas and if your not the birding type there are multiple other caches in the areas (bonus). To the business at hand, at waypoint one, which is at the top of this page, you willfind a sign telling you about the area before you. On this sign is an image of a bird. This is the key to getting to the final. Your task is to identify this bird and its scientific name. Next assign a numerical value to all letters in the alphabet (Ex. a=1, b=2, c=3). Now using the scientific name add all the letters of the first word together and add 584 to get the last three digits to the North coordinates let those be XXX. Due the same to the second word except add 451, this will get you the last three digits to the west coordinates, let those be YYY. Now insert answers to the coordinates below and you're on your way. Final Coordinates N47 17.XXX W122 20.YYY When getting to the final, use care, this is why I'm rating the terrain a 2.5 due to the last 25-30 feet. The cache itself is nothing out of the ordinary and the contents are filled with kid supplies (since I'm a big kid myself). There is also prizes for the FTF and STF.

You can check your answers for this puzzle on Geochecker.com.
