A roadside cache at Papakaio
In 1875 a rail line from Pukeuri to the Maerewhenua River was
opened. This was later extended to Duntroon and Kurow once the
Marewhenua was bridged. Approx 7km from Pukeuri was the Papakaio
station.
All that remains today is the loading bank. The cache, a
200ml sistema with log book and pencil is located in this locality.
