Geocache Description:

This small traditional cache is in a popular section of the Fires Creek Recreation Area of the Nantahala National Forest between Hayesville and Murphy North Carolina. The easiest access is 35N 05.756 & 083W 51.689.

It is a moderate hike to this cache but is very pretty in the spring and fall and there are great views beyond the cache. There are several ways to get to this cache, one from Leatherwood Falls parking area or the above coordinates and then two ways from there. You can follow the forest service road or take the trail from the parking coordinates. we suggest you take the direct route from the cache back to the parking spot and you will pass the spring head that is the begenning of Leatherwood Falls. Have fun and enjoy the hike.
