How Geocaching Works

Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

Geocache Description:

Cache (now a nano) contains log only - you need to bring your own pen or pencil, and a pair of tweezers for log extraction. No space for swaps, coins or TBs. Pay and Display car park over the road from cache. Stealth required!

IMPORTANT: The cache has been replaced (August 2014) for a container with really strong magnets. However, I could not find the older cache which has the really weak magnets. If you find a cache with weak magnets and a log book with dates that go back to before August 2014, PLEASE REMOVE IT and let me know. Thank you! I now return you to the cache description...

Felixstowe Library has been a part of the life of Felixstowe since it was built in 1965. Whilst many libraries have decreased in visitor numbers over the years, Felixstowe Library has got busier and busier. This is due in part to the improvements over the years, but I put a lot of it down to the staff.

They are a great bunch of people, who will go above and beyond to help you with enquiries. Today it is still retains the friendly spirit that I recall from my childhood of growing up in Felixstowe.

In 2006, the library was completely refurbished, and it gained a very pleasant cafe. It also gained a rather novel sculpture by Paul Richardson called The Seagulls. It is for this sculpture that this cache is so named.

Also in the library is a memorial to those who lost their lives in the 1953 flood.

So after finding the cache outside, why not come in for a few minutes, and see if you can spot what has made this library so central to the lives of the residents of Felixstowe?

***Congratulations to tombraider4 for being first to find!***
