The cache lies just off a public bridleway in woodland on the West side of Leckhampton Hill. It is a good place from which to view Devil's Chimney, a limestone pillar thought to have been isolated as a result of quarrying circa 1800 or, as local legend would have it, being literally the chimney of the Devil's dwelling deep beneath the ground!
When replacing the cache, please leave it the right way up (to maintain its water-tightness) and cover with sticks and leaves (not rocks, as these will break the lid). Thank you.

For a fascinating review of the various biological, geological and historical features of the site, the reader is referred to sections of the Leckhampton Hill and Charlton Kings Common management plan [pdf].
