Devil's Chimney Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

I!: I dithered over the option of hiding the cache in plain sight attached to a telegraph pole, then realised it might be unwise to encourage players to fiddle with the wiring ...

So, all out of ideas. It was fun while it lasted; thanks for playing.

Geocache Description:

A regular clip-lock geocache on Leckhampton Hill, a Site of Special Scientific Interest in the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, placed with the kind permission of Cheltenham Borough Council.

The cache lies just off a public bridleway in woodland on the West side of Leckhampton Hill. It is a good place from which to view Devil's Chimney, a limestone pillar thought to have been isolated as a result of quarrying circa 1800 or, as local legend would have it, being literally the chimney of the Devil's dwelling deep beneath the ground!

When replacing the cache, please leave it the right way up (to maintain its water-tightness) and cover with sticks and leaves (not rocks, as these will break the lid). Thank you.
