Geocache Description:

We pass this to camp and I personally have never been in but find it interesting. One of our Scout parents stopped in and said it was free and worth the trip! What a great way to show you a historic part of Oklahoma's history even if you do not stop in.

You need to find the parking area to the south of the movie set and pull in there. Not really recommended at dark.

An old West town built by retired actor Johnny Shackleford, serves as both movie set and site of several annual events, including a Mountain Man Rendezvous in April, a Cowboy Roundup on Labor Day weekend, Halloween haunted town, and a Cowboy Christmas event in December. Buildings are furnished with antiques, and an on site trading post.

Movie Town
Where The Old West Comes Alive

Although originally conceived and founded as a movie set for the film and movie industry, Sipokni West has become a favored attraction for the tourist and traveler. This fact has become especially true with the opening of the Cowboy Cafe.

However, Sipokni West still remains a movie set for the shooting of "Westerns" and a number of film and video projects have been shot here.

All the cowpokes, saloon girls, and gunfighters at Sipokni West continue to grow the town to accomodate the movie industry.

For information about using Sipokni West for a movie project visit our contact page and send a telegraph to the town Mayor Johnny Shackleford.
