Third version of my nearby caches. Love the neighborhood and the view from up here on Mt. Adams. A different container hidden in a different location, so it still should be fun for those who found the previous ones.
Here is the former location of a local icon, Rockwood Pottery, a company founded by Maria Longworth Nichols Storer in 1880 as a hobby. She employed local artisans to paint the images on pottery and used unique glazing techniques to produce the highly sought after ceramics. They also produced decorative glazed tile and building components, such as would be found around a fireplace or on the outside of a building. The company fell on hard times after the depression, and the business was sold off and moved away in the late 1950s.
The building was restored a number of years back, and is mostly used as an office building. The open spot between the building and the tall apartment building was where the upper station for Cincinnati's last running incline was located. See the following link to an old postcard of the site.

The term rook refers to a crow-like bird, which was used as one of their trademarks. You can see examples of these on the iron gate posts beside the building. I suspect this would be a place for them to roost if they were able to fly from their current location.

Nicer view of the city and Ohio River be found at N 39° 06.398 W 084° 30.042.
