[ITA]: Il Molino Stucky di Venezia è un palazzo costruito nel 1895 nell'isola della Giudecca, accanto all'antico stabilimento Fortuny. Il Molino fu costruito su iniziativa di Giovanni Stucky, imprenditore e finanziere di origine svizzera. La progettazione del Molino fu affidata all'architetto Ernst Wullekopf, che volle realizzarlo in stile neogotico. L'edificio colpisce per le sue proporzioni anomale rispetto alle architetture veneziane tradizionali. La costruzione di un mulino nella laguna si basava sull'idea di sfruttare il canale della Giudecca per un veloce trasporto via acqua della materia prima, il grano, e dei prodotti. L'impianto fu un modello di funzionalità e tecnologia per quei tempi, era dotato per esempio di illuminazione elettrica alimentata a gas. Negli anni di massima funzionalità del complesso, il Molino dava lavoro a circa 1500 operai ed era in grado di macinare fino a 2500 quintali di farina al giorno. Nel 1895 il complesso fu ampliato includendo magazzini e silos, nonché gli uffici. La decadenza del Molino Stucky iniziò intorno al 1910, fino alla sua chiusura nel 1955 dopo un lungo periodo di crisi.

La cache è nascosta all'esterno del Molino, su un ponte che collega l'isola della Giudecca a Sacca Fisola. Per arrivarci dovrete prendere un vaporetto (informatevi sulle linee e sui costi!). Non mi resta che augurarvi buona caccia!


[ENG]: The Molino Stucky is a palace built in 1895 on the Giudecca island, next to the old establishment Fortuny. The mill was built for John Stucky, entrepreneur and financier of Swiss origin. The architect Ernst Wullekopfdesign designed the palace in neo-Gothic style. The building impresses with its unusual proportions compared with other Venetian architectures. The construction of a mill in the lagoon was based on the idea of exploiting the Giudecca Canal to a fast water transportation of raw materials, grain, and products. The plant was a model of efficiency and technology, i.e., equipped with gas-powered electric lighting. Over the years of maximum performance of the mill, it gave employment to about 1500 workers and was able to grind up to 2,500 tons of flour per day. In 1895 the complex was expanded to include warehouses, silos, and offices. The decay of the Molino Stucky began around 1910, until its closure in 1955 after a long period of crisis.

The cache is hidden near the Molino, in a bridge between the Giudecca island and Sacca Fisola. You need to take a boat (vaporetto) to reach the cache: see number of boat and prices. Good hunting!!
