According to the Corps of Discovery map of the area, they named this river the Youmatolam. It is doubtful that any members of the Lewis and Clark Expedition came upstream this far, however, from Silusi Butte they could have seen the entire region. On their return trip from Ft Clatsop in April of 1806, they were on horseback and on the Washington side of the Columbia River.
The cache is a cammo'd plastic bottle with a log book, pen and currently a trackable. It is located on BLM land off the Riverfront Park Trail. Please return the cache to its hiding place. This would be a good place to spend some time fishing or just relaxing to the sounds of nature.
