Søby Mølle

Søby Mølle blev opført i 1881 som kornmølle. Dengang lå møllen lidt udenfor byen, men den ligger nu omkranset af parcelhuskvartererne nær øens største arbejdsplads Søby Værft. Den smukke, stråtækkede mølle er ikke fundet bevaringsværdig i en sådan grad at den er fredet. Den blev i 2005 købt af Søby Møllefond, hvor et større istandsættelsesprojekt blev påbegyndt, og afsluttedes i 2007.

Der er picnicborde ved møllen, og det er et fint sted at spise sin medbragte mad.

English:

Søby Mill was built in 1881 for grinding corn. At that time the mill was situated outside of the town but today it is surrounded by the single-family homes near Søby Shipyard. The beautiful, thatched mill has not been found worthy of preservation by the municipality and state. In 2005 Søby Møllefond (Søby Mill Fund) bought it and began a renovation project which ended in 2007.

There are some picnic tables by the mill, and it's a nice place to enjoy your lunch.

Die Mühle von Søby wurde in 1881 gebaut als Kornmühle. Damals liegt die Mühle draußen vor Søby, aber heute ist sie eingekreist von den Einfamilienhäusern in die Nähe von der Werft. Die schöne, strohgedeckte Mühle ist nicht betrachtet als denkmalschutzwürdig bei der Kommune und ist deshalb nicht aufbewahrt. Im 2005 kaufte Søby Mühlefond sie, und fängt mit einem Restaurierungsprojekt an, das in 2007 beendend war.

Bei der Mühle sind schönen Picnic-Tischen wo Sie können zu Mittag essen.
