Geocache Description:

After finding the cache follow the frontage road along the highway north until you see:

Hanging on the fence is a Ford Maverick. These cars were built between 1969 & 1977 and when first introduced were priced at $1,995. The emblem included the name of the car along with a steer head hence the name Maverick a term used by ranchers for unbranded cattle. Powered by either a Thriftpower Inline Six (AKA: Falcon Six) or a 302 CID V8, the cars were manufactured as a replacement for the Falcon. With the popularity of the Mustang in todays classic car crowd the Maverick is often overlooked. However, there is a small place in Prunedale where the Ford Maverick rises above the rest. Well, not quite half of it.

Another interesting Fact:

Some of the exterior paint options had unusual names, designed to attract youthful owners, such as Anti-Establish Mint, Hulla Blue, Original Cinnamon, Freudian Gilt, Thanks Vermillion, Black Jade, Champagne Gold, Gulfstream Aqua, Meadowlark Yellow, Brittany Blue, Lime Gold, Dresden Blue, Raven Black, Wimbledon White, and Candy Apple Red.
