The cache consists of a plastic "Tang" powdered drink container. Included are a number of small trade items of local interest.
05/13/13 Update: Cache cleaned and restocked with new trade items.
The cache is located in the Mississippi greenbelt area, one of Oak Ridge's hidden natural treasures. This greenbelt, which is little used, has some easy trails that get a hiker quickly away from the surrounding residential areas. In the summer, there is a Kudsu jungle that is especially eerie. Parking is available on the lower segment of the very short Mississippi Ave. that intersects Robertsville Rd. The trail starts in the brushy area behind the traffic barrier.
The month of May is when Oak Ridge's annual Secret City Festival will be held. Follow this link (visit link) for information about this year's event. While you're here, stop by the American Museum of Science and Energy, (visit link) . This is a great place for a family outing where you will discover that learning about science is fun for all ages. Here you will also learn about the significant role that Oak Ridge played in ending World War II.
