A hike of about 1Km (160m up) from Saddle Lake. You will be rewarded with a great view of the valley
Saddle lake was an old irrigation reservoir. It has been stocked with Comets (gold fish). On a sunny day you can see hundreds of them near the surface. On a cloudy day you have to look closely from the dam to see them. Walk across the dam and follow the old road to the top of the hill. From the top you should be able to locate the cache. An alternate route is to go in via the old rail bed and follow the well worn (but unmarked) trail to the top of the hill. Please note that the railbed route is about 4.5km and 260km up, but is a nicer hike. You could do a circle using both routes by walking on reservoir road between the two parking spots.
