Geocache Description:

Woodford Halse cache 'n dash if you have trousers on.

You are looking for a different sort of container. Please bring your own pen.
This used to be the branch line to Byfield.

A lot of dog walkers and horse riders pass this way, and please watch out for your children as cars can come past here with too much speed.

There is a pound coin for the FTF

This piece of railway used to carry traffic between Byfield and Moreton Pinckney on the 'East and West Junction Railway' from 1873. Not very successful, the railway went through various mergers, until it eventually connected with the Great Central Railway in Woodford Halse in the early 1900's. Unfortunately traffic did not increase greatly, so passenger traffic ceased in 1952, with freight finishing in 1965
