St George's United Reformed Church, Morpeth.
A celebration of 150 years of the church building, this geocache would like vistors to learn more about the site on which the church is situated.
Disabled access good.
On April the 12th 1860, the first service of St George's Church was held. This geocache is a celebration of 150 years of the building. Before it was a church, a mill stood on the site, which is prominent on Telford Bridge. The river Wansbeck, vital for the mill, was also the cause of a flood in 2008 which entered the church and many surrounding homes and businesses.
To find the cache, you have to go through the rear gate marked 'private carpark' - but we have full permission to place the cache and for you to walk through the grounds, and you are not trespassers! Please use the adjoining council car park rather than the church one. The cache is hidden out of view of the road and passing muggles.
