Small cache hidden on the Bristol Bypass
In the early days of the founding of Liverpool there was no bridge across the Mersey River. The area along Bristol Avenue was a separate village called Bristol. The area where Mersey Seafoods rests was called Dean's Point. People travelling up and down he coast would have a servant ride a horse up the river to cross in Milton, or The Falls as it was then known, and then back down the river to either Bristol or Liverpool. The owner would then cross the river at Dean's point by water ferry and then mount up and ride to their destination. This saved quite a bit of time on the horse for a wealthy landowner out to check on their holdings.
In recent years this road was used to bypass Bristol Avenue for a major upgrade to the sewer and water lines.
