On April 6th, 2010 one of my best friends in the world passed away unexpectedly. He was one of the best men I know. He loved nature, hiking, camping, canoeing, gardening, and helping out his LARGE family of friends. I am fortunate enough to be able to call him my brother.
This is the first of two caches I am placing in his honor.
There is no FTF prize because this cache isn't about the numbers... I choose this location because Joe liked to go hiking here when he lived in Muskeon. Please take the time to appreciate the trees, trillium flowers, ferns, and other plants that he enjoyed. Please park at Hoffmaster State Park (Trail Head coords below) (State Park Pass Required) and make the hike through the MARKED trails. Do not destroy or climb the bluffs because Joe was passionate about enjoying (and preserving) the environment. This cache is placed with permission from Hoffmaster State Park.
About the cache name:
Joe was known by many names to many people... Lil Joe, Hippie Joe, Roadie Joe, and Joey just to name a few. Joe lived with us about 5 years ago to help us out when my husband broke his legs. During that time, I kept recieving mail addressed to "Edward"... Well, I had no idea who that was so I kept throwing it away! One day, I got a couple pieces of junk mail, a bill, and a card for this "Edward" person. I started ranting to my husband and Joe about having no freaking clue who this "Edward" person was... Joe starts freaking out at me, "Why are you throwing my mail away?!?" I had known him for 5 YEARS previous as "Joe"... I didn't know it was his middle name! :)
I love you Joe! You will always be in my heart!
