This is our first cache, and because of that, we wanted to put it close to home. The spot we chose is like a forest, meaning that there are trees, grass, weeds, and other plants nearby, however there are also many homes close by (including a brand new development that is just being completed, and ours!) It may be tricky to get to depending on the season and the growth of crazy weeds or killer insects, and also you should be careful of the embankment when approaching this cache.
Because the cache is near the Forest, and in honour of our first ever cache find, we placed this cache. Not so long ago, back in August of 2009, we were camping near Bancroft, Ontario, and decided to try this sport called geocaching that sounded really fun. Our first ever find was right near the park we were camping in and it was very exciting for us! As you can tell, we’re still just as excited!
The cache is a camo-taped peanut butter jar and originally contained a mini flashlight key chain, a carabineer, a clip-on compass, a lanyard, a foldable Frisbee, and a deck of cards.
