The tarmac lane from the canal is very peaceful. The hedge has some great old 'trees' and as you progress the views get better. Weathertop (The Helm) appears directly up the valley. Near the cache, you get bonus points for identifying the large Lakes fell that appears above Scout Scar - Wetherlam perhaps?
The minor road shown on the map is very narrow and we don't suggest trying to drive to this cache as there's nowhere to park. You'd also miss out a lovely walk!
