Geocache Description:

A quick drive up cache along the highway. Please park on one of the nearby approaches to avoid highway traffic.

Smilesville School District was formed on May 5, 1906 and was named after Mr. T. Smiles who was also the Chairman of the district. The school itself was built in 1907 and was then moved to this site in 1908 in order to be in the center of the school district. During the first ten years of the school's history, teachers' names were not recorded. From 1916, the school saw seventeen more teachers and then closed in 1942.
