Piliškiu lake Bevardis lake
LT APRASYMAS LIETUVISKAI

Aukštapelke - sunkiausiai prieinama, bet kartu ir gražiausia tako vieta su užauganciais ežeriukais ir tik pelkems budingais augalais. Sekliuose ežeriukuose tuno skendeniai (Utricularia), virš vandens iškeliantys tik žiedus, o lapai ir klastingi maišeliai, skirti smulkuciams vandens gyvunams gaudyti, slepiasi po vandeniu. Nuo liepto matomi du pelkeje telkšantys senatvines stadijos ežeriukai: Bevardis ir Piliškiu.Piliškiu ežero plotas - 4,7 ha, ilgis 330 m, didžiausias plotis - 170 m, didžiausias gylis 5 m. Vandens lygis - 149,8 m virš juros lygio.Bevardžio ežero plotas - 0,8 ha, ilgis - 190 m, didžiausias gylis - 1,2 m. Šis ežerelis telkšo kiek aukšciau Piliškiu ežero, todel vandens perteklius nuteka i ji.Abu šie ežerai - vieno ežero liekanos, užauge ir atskirti kiminines pelkes. Dabartiniu metu ežerus skiria 70 metru plocio kimininis liunas.Del užaugimo ežereliu plotas nuolat mažeja. Laikui begant ir juos pasiglemš pelke.

EN ENGLISH DESCRIPTION

The moor is the hardest-accessible part of the track, but it is also the most beautiful one with its relic lakelets and moorland-only plants. A peculiarity of the shallow lakelets is abundance of bladdcrworts (Utricularia) whose the only part rising over the water surface is flowers, while leaves and wily "bags" destined to catch small water creatures hide underwater. From the causeway you can see two moorland lakelets of declining years — Bevardis and Piliškiai ones.Area of Piliškiai lakelet is 4.7 ha, its length — 330 m, maximum width — 170 m, maximum depth — 5 m. Water level is 149.8 meters above the sea.Area of Bevardis lakelet is 0.8 ha, its length — 190 m, maximum depth — 1.2 m. Water level of this lakelet is a little higher than that of Piliškiai one, so excess water is drained from Bevardis to the latter.Both lakelets were previously parts of one lake — they got separated by a 70 meters wide sphagnum moor that grew across the lake and parted it asunder.Area of the lakelets is constantly shrinking due to the moor growing over them. Over time, they will surrender lo the moor and cease to exist.
