LET OP De cache kan niet gelopen worden tussen 24.00 uur en 07.00 uur! De wandeling is ca. 3 kilometer. De totale tocht ongeveer 2 uur.

This cache is absolutely recommended for tourists visiting Amsterdam.

Omdat de cache nu al 5 x geript is, hebben we besloten er een nano-cache van te maken. Het eindpunt is ook gewijzigd!
U bent hier in het hart van de voormalige NDSM-werf in Amsterdam Noord. Na de aanleg van het Noordzee-kanaal in 1870, bloeide de scheepsbouwindustrie hier op. Grote scheepswerven en kranen verrezen langs de IJ-oever. De Noordse scheepsbouwindustrie hield 60 jaar stand. In 1984 viel het doek voor de werf. Inmiddels is het aantal gebouwen beschermd als industrieel erfgoed en hebben ze een nieuwe culturele bestemming gekregen. Het terras van de Brasserie IJ-kantine op de begane grond van de voormalige Baanderij van de NDSM-werf is een mooie plek om deze tocht te besluiten. Geniet nog even van het prachtige uitzicht over het IJ.

(At the above coordinates is free parking. NOTE: The cache can not be walked between 24.00 hours and 07.00 hours! The walk is about 3 km. Total trip approximately 2 hours. You are here in the heart of the former NDSM in Amsterdam North. After the construction of the North Sea Canal in 1870, flourished shipbuilding industry here. Large cranes and shipyards erected along the riverbank. The Nordic shipbuilding industry was 60 years state. In 1984 it was curtains for the yard. Meanwhile the number of buildings and industrial heritage protected and have a new cultural destination. The terrace of the Brasserie IJ canteen on the ground floor of the former Baanderij NDSM is a nice place to decide this trip. Enjoy more here is the wonderful view over the IJ.)
