Ce menhir connu sous le nom de Bonde de l’Enfer est situé à la Thiemblaye en Saint-Samson, au lieu dit Le Vau Garni .
Haut de près de 8 m, composé de granit et quartz, c’est un remarquable monument mégalithique chargé de légendes populaires.
Il serait l’une des clefs de la mer… si on tourne la pierre, la mer arrivera en bouillonnant et inondera le pays… C’est aussi l’une des trois “bondes” bouchant l’entrée de l’enfer. Le Diable était fort occupé à dégager entièrement le menhir afin de mieux aménager l’entrée de l’enfer quand Saint-Samson, aidé de Saint-Michel, le chassa et remit en place la pierre… plutôt mal d’ailleurs puisqu’elle en est restée inclinée .
Compte-tenu de son inclinaison il servait également d’érussoir (érusser signifie glisser). En effet selon la croyance populaire les jeunes filles qui voulaient se marier dans l’année devaient grimper au sommet et se laisser glisser jusqu’au sol, sans une écorchure, vêtues de “leur culotte de baptême”.

This menhir known under the name of “Bonde de l’Enfer” - Plug of the Hell, is situated in Thiemblaye in Saint-Samson - Le Vau Garni.
Top of about 26ft, consisted of granite and quartz, it is a remarkable megalithic monument loaded with popular legends.
It would be one of the keys of the sea if we shoot the stone, the sea will arrive by bubbling and will flood the country … It is also one of three plugs blocking the entrance of the hell. The Devil was hardly occupied with kicking away completely the menhir to fit out better the entrance of the hell when Saint-Samson, helped by Saint Michel, chased away him and put back in place ready in position the stone rather badly moreover because she remained oblique there.
Considering its slope it also served to “érussoir” (“érusser” mean sliding). Indeed according to the popular belief the girls who wanted to get married in the year had to climb on the summit and be allowed slide up to the ground, without a graze, dressed in "their panties of baptism ".
