Geocache Description:

Die Bauerschaft Birgte wurde im Jahre 1088 erstmals urkundlich als „Birgithi“ erwähnt. Seit Ende des 19. Jahrhundert trennt der Dortmund-Ems-Kanal die Bauerschaft vom Hang des Teutoburger Waldes. Die Bank am Kanal lädt zur Pause ein und bietet eine tolle Aussicht auf den Teutohang.
