A nano placed on a public footpath near the River Nene with woodland and meadowland views. One of two caches in this area and involving a short flat walk across rivers and fields towards Castor.
This cache involves a walk down Mill Lane and on the public footpath beyond from the attractive village of Alwalton. Street-side parking is available in the village at N52° 32.984 W000° 19.764 - but do please avoid parking in Mill Lane or in front of residents' driveways at the given co-ordinates. The village has the pub "The Cuckoo," always worth a visit, and in addition the Post Office provides provisions, light meals and ice-creams during normal opening hours. This cache may be done with buggy or wheelchair but there is a slope down Mill Lane which might prevent some wheelchair users from sole access. Use GPS to determine the correct footpath.
The cache area should be approached with care in wet weather and at all times children and pets need careful monitoring. If in any doubt about the water levels the area should be avoided as, after all, you do not have to do this cache - common sense and caution should always prevail.
