Geocache Description:


Boughton Monchelsea scout group has existed since 1974, although the scouting links in the village can be traced back to 1912. The Scout group moved into their new hut in 2009 after much time was spent renovating it from it’s former disused farm building state. The project took a large amount of fund-raising and many people and companies in the village gave their time and donated materials to allow the young people to move into the new building. The hut is named after Ray Slingsby who was a much loved scout leader with the group who sadly passed away in 2007 after an accident. The cache itself is not placed on the land surrounding the scout hut as that is private land, it is however placed on a foot path that runs fairly close to the building. The cache itself used to be a 2.5l klip & lock box. Unfortunately after some fairly brutal gardening along the foot path this cache was muggled.
