This cache is a pleasant hike on a fairly good trail. There is a little bit of off trail sage brush to overcome at the end. The Heidelberg trail begins just off of Warmsprings road where Wanderers Way meets Hillside drive, parking is limited. The begining of the trail goes through private property, but access is granted.
This cache can also be accessed from the Adams Gulch trailhead. Adams Gulch is open to the public and the Heidelberg saddle is a short hike up an old mining road.
Its 0.9 miles up the Heidelberg canyon trail to the cache. The Adams gulch trail is shorter, but steeper. This spot offers some good views of Griffin Butte and the Adams Gulch drainage to the NW, and Bald Mountain to the south. I placed this here because it is close to my house and easy to maintain. There will not be access to this area in the winter due to the Wildlife closure. If you are caching with pets please clean up after them. As the summer progresses I will upgrade the cache, but as for now it is a small pelican container with a log, a guitar pick, a knife sharpener, a shell from Hawaii, and an S hook. Good Luck!!!
