Geocache Description:

Almost a PNG. The last few feet are rocky and next to the river so you will have to be careful if you have little ones with you!

This cache was my five-year-old daughter Lorelei’s idea. This park is one of her favorite places to visit and where the coordinates take you is her favorite spot!

The Lorelei is an old German myth similar to the sirens in Greek mythology and the word itself means “murmuring rock.” This location seemed like a nice spot for a cache that bears this name.

If you have enough time, hang out for a bit and take a walk around the park. There is a huge swinging bridge across the Kishwaukee River, geese, cranes, frogs, and turtles to watch, many playgrounds and picnic areas to choose from, and, if you’re into history, the Baltic Mill is a beautifully restored building and was originally constructed in 1845.

The park is open from 6 am until dusk and it gets quite busy after school and on the weekends.

*Please re-hide well!! There is a big problem with muggles in this park, please make sure the cache is completely hidden from view.*
