So remote, yet close enough to suburbia to smell bacon and eggs cooking for breakfast!
Us locals really must thank the Bomaderry Rotarians of 1981, who, after years of discussion with council, finally were given approval to build the walk in 1981. Following natural animal tracks along the edge of the creek, the walk takes you through patches of remnant rainforest, spotted gum forest, dry woodland and small hanging swamps. The small gorge is rich in Aboriginal heritage and sheer sandstone faces.
It's worth doing the longer (5km) walk, just for the sheer cliffs and wonderful diversity of the landscape and birdlife. Lots of King Parrots were feeding around GZ today. Take water with you, and watch the littlies as there are some steep sections, and cliffs to the creek.
Enjoy exploring our backyard!
