Geocache Description:

This cache only has space for the log book and a pen. It is easy to find - just a short walk from the road next to the cemetery. This is the first cache I have hidden. I hope you like it.

PLEASE DO NOT DISTURB ANY OF THE GRAVES - IT IS NOT IN A GRAVE - AND TAKE CARE NOT TO DAMAGE ANYTHING IN THE CEMETERY. THERE IS NO NEED. PLEASE PLACE THE CACHE BACK AS YOU FOUND IT. IT SHOULD NOT BE VISIBLE. Faulconbridge Cemetery is the burial place of Sir Henry Parkes and his family members. Henry was born on 27th May 1815 in Stoneleigh, Warwickshire, England. He was born of humble parents and had only a very basic education before leaving school to work as a labourer. He emigrated to Australia in 1839 and soon pursued a career in politics. Via his influence and by writing in newspapers, he fought for the introduction of responsible government across Australia. Amongst his many achievements, including passing the first efficient schools act in the colony and achievements in railways, he became Prime Minister of NSW and remained as such for 5 terms. He worked towards uniting the colonies into federation, but died on 27th April 1896 without seeing this come to fruition. He was penniless at the time of his death. He is, however, remembered as the Father of Federation for his role in achieving federation in Australia in 1901. He is remembered on the old $5.00 note. The Corridor of Oaks was set up in his memory. Congratulations to the Western Woylies for FTF!
