Geocache Description:

This is my second cache and is the sister cache to Sir Henry Parkes. It has now been downsized to a small silver bison tube, due to numerous mugglings in the past.It is still an easy cache. It is in a park which often has many people around, including recreationalists and historical groups, not to mention kids who live in the houses opposite, so sometimes stealth is required. Please ensure that you screw the lid securely to keep it waterproof.

The Corridor of Oaks is located not far east of Sir Henry Parkes Grave. It is located on Sir Henry’s parade (between Springwood and Faulconbridge on the southern side of the railway and highway). Joseph Jackson, a local member of parliament gave the park to the local council in 1933 with a strict instruction that every Prime Minister or nearest living relative, plant an oak tree there in their honour. This has occurred ever since with the trees being a memorial to our Prime Ministers. The park was originally dedicated to Sir Henry Parkes, the Father of Federation.( Five times NSW Prime Minister prior to federation). The council is in the process of upgrading the park and replacing the plaques for the Prime Ministers trees. On Monday 8/10/12, Kevin Rudd finally planted his tree and John Howards tree (ripped out by someone previously) was replanted in new beds to revive the park and restore it to its original glory. Visit it and see history in the making....... STOP PRESS- Within two weeks some idiot has already pulled out the two new trees for Howard and Rudd- at least the rest of the park looks great! ... They have now been replaced but one looks like it may now have been poisoned. As of April 2013, the plaques for each of the trees have been renewed. Let's hope they have a better chance of staying there than the last lot that were vandalised and/or stolen. This is by far my most popular cache, because of its tourist recommendation and that it is found on the back road through to the upper mountains. I hope you like it. Unfortunately, due to the location and restrictions as to where I can move it due to nearby caches, I have had to replace this one regularly and try different hides since the original to try and keep the location. You are now looking for a small silver bison tube. Please ensure it is returned to its hides hole to avoid being removed by the gardeners. You will need a pen or pencil. Congratulations to Truja for FTF!
