Geocache Description:

Quick circle side cache. Can you spot the gold bars on the circle from where you stand?

Gold is what makes Welkom live. Gold mine tunnels run underneath Welkom for kilometres far. Gold mines surround Welkom. The first gold was found on the farm St Helena in 1947.
Welkom is the youngest city in South Africa. Welkom got it's name from the farm Welkom. Population is 500 000. Some of the deepest and riches mines can be visited and some have mine tours.

Veer-ini-hoed (Barbara Oberholzer) suffered from Lymphoma Cancer for many years and passed away in 2011. Barbara did not allow life to get the better of her. Phenomenal lady with the spirit of an angel. Barbra was introduced to geocaching by Fanie and Annette Heymans, she then decided to place a geocache on every circle in Welkom before her live ends, and what an amazing job she has done! The caches were adopted by me in 2014. May the mark that Barbara left en”circle” us for years to come.
