Gammo's Untergang
Een wandeling door de natuur bij Rockanje. Parkeer je auto op de bovenstaande coördinaten. Het terrein is toegankelijk tussen zonsopgang en zonsondergang.
A walk in the nature of Rockanje. Park your car on the coordinates above. The terrain is accessible between dusk and dawn.

Hoewel de titel dramatisch klinkt valt het allemaal wel mee. Untergang is vernoemd naar de oude Duitse bunkers die je zult tegenkomen op je wandeling door dit prachtige gebied. (Het Waterbos)
De bunkers waren destijds de eerste verdediging tegen de Engelse vliegtuigen die het vasteland van Nederland naderden. In de duinen van Oostvoorne was een belangrijk strategisch Duits radarcommandocentrum gevestigd genaamd 'Biber'. Eenmaal per jaar kan de Biberbunker op afspraak worden bezocht. De Biberbunker ligt overigens niet op deze route. (Zie Biber Website)
De wandeling is zo'n 5 kilometer lang en voert over zandpaden en, veelal zeer natte, duinpaden. (Het gebied heet niet voor niets 'Het Waterbos')

Although it sounds rather alarming this cache does not announce desctruction of Gammo. Untergang is named after the German bunkers you'll encounter during the walk through this beautiful terrain. (The waterforest)
The bunkers were the first defence against attacks from Britisch planes that approached the Dutch mainland. In the dunes of Oostvoorne the important German radar command post 'Biber' was hidden. Once every year, by appointment, the Biber bunker can be visited. You'll not see the bunker itself during this walk. For more information (in Dutch) see Biber website.
The walk itself is approximately 5 kilometers in length and passes over sandpaths, and muddy dune paths. (The name of the forest is after al Water forest). |

| Loop een stukje terug, naar het pad, en sla linksaf. Ga via WP5 (N 51°53.044 E004°02.204) naar WP6 (N 51°53.105 E004°02.133) Hier vind je een bankje. Tel het aantal spijkers C en ronde gaten D. |
