Geocache Description:

This micro is in the right-a-way near Nartron Field.

Nartron Field is an airport located 2 miles north of Reed City, Michigan. An abandoned terminal building, including a defunct control tower, sits on the southeast corner of the airport. It is locked and has nothing to offer to visiting aircraft. The facility used to be known as Miller Airport. It was purchased by Nartron Corporation in the 70's to house its engineering and manufacturing operations, which have since all moved up the road.
There are two runways on site. There is a north-south runway (17/35), which is in poor condition and the surface is cracked and scattered with stones. Vegetation grows through cracks. It is approx 4506 x 100 ft.
The second runway is east-west (8/26), it is roughly 2500 ft. long, and its surface is asphalt, in extremely poor condition.

The south end of the building looks as if this building once was a theater. The northern most building is used for RC airplanes and their operators.

I spoke to Nartron, the owner of the airport, and they gave me permission to place this cache here, as long as I gave the disclaimer; The facility is no longer operational, the building is locked, and enter at your own risk.
