The Palace is one of Budapest's Chain
Bridge, an iconic building of the István
Széchenyi hallmarked by one of the symbols of reform. The
building is the symbolic center of Budapest, the Széchenyi Chain
Bridge at the foot of the zero-kilometer, the Main Street 1 number
can be found.
History:
The Chain Bridge Association Building Construction Miklós Ybl
the building plans are drawn up, neo-Renaissance
style. The construction in 1867, the year of reconciliation started
the Chain Bridge area (now Clark Ádám tér). After the surrender of
the company's offices, the first inhabitants is occupied homes,
including Ferenc
Reitter, the city's legendary engineer and Herrich Charles,
director of the Tunnel Company. The
Chain Bridge and the State Palace after you have purchased,
moved into the building of the Municipal Public Works Council in
1870, and the Budapest bridges in the State Inspectorate in 1871.
After 1920 the building's function changed. The downstairs beer
hall and cafe open. In 1935, it was decided to move here to the
Administrative Court. In 1954, the Hungarian People's Supreme
Court, in 1981, and the Buda Central District Court took possession
of the palace. Since the end of the Justice Department cleared out
and sold it to the palace. Unused for long periods was finally
restored to its original style of the house in offices and
operated.
