While looking at aerial
views of the area, I came across this interesting location. Of
course, I just had to explore, and drop off a cache. What we
thought was an alien landing platform, we found out was actually
just the remains of an old water tower, from when this area was
Navy property.
You can access the cache from several approaches, but start at
the first parking lot as you enter the State Park. You can follow
the trails along the cliffs and then head east as you get about
600' from the cache. You can also head towards Numi's Cache, and
follow your receiver from there. The cliff route has nicer views,
but the other route is a bit shorter.
