Geocache Description:


Come and enjoy a very easy 1km walk around some recently added walking trails where you will be surrounded by an amazing variety of wildlife.

The Silverdale Creek Wetlands are the result of hard work by the city and several non-profit societies, including a partnership with Ducks Unlimited.

This area was once a field of canary grass and has been transformed into a protected site for migrating Chinook and Coho Salmon. It also provides a natural habitat for many other forms of wildlife.

Bird boxes have been placed throughout the park and you can normally see all kinds of birds enjoying this wonderful sanctuary.

The cache is a small canister (using unique camouflage) hidden under the far corner of the boardwalk. There is room for small trade items.

Please stay on the paths and keep your dogs leashed.
