Franzosenfriedhof - Frenchman cemetery
Dieser Cache führt Euch auf das Gelände des ehemaligen Hospitals „Zum Heiligen Geist“ und der 1359 erbauten Kirche mit Friedhof.
Das Spital war ursprünglich bestimmt für die Leprakranken, die Aussätzigen, auch "Sundersiechen" genannt. Es bestand bis 1896.
Die Kirche wurde 1855 wegen Baufälligkeit abgerissen.
Auf dem Friedhof war 1878 die letzte Beerdigung und 1899 wurde dieser eingeebnet.
Heute sind nur noch Reste der ehemaligen Friedhofsmauer und ein Gedenkstein vorhanden.
Nach der Schlacht bei Bautzen, 20 - 21. Mai 1813, wurden hier hunderte Gefallene begraben.
Vermutlich deshalb nennen die Bautzener dieses Areal auch Franzosenfriedhof.

English Version:
The coordinates lead you to the area of the former hospital „to the Holy Spirit “ with church and cemetery. It was built in 1359. The hospital was intended for leprosy patients, who were also called "Sundersiechen". It existed until 1896. The church was taken down in 1855 because of its state of dilapidation.In 1878, the last funeral took place on the cemetery which was flattened in 1899.
All that is present today is a wall of the former cemetery and a memorial.
