The cache
IS NOT located at the posted coordinates.
The posted coordinates are your starting point for this very
quick walking tour of Downtown Cherry Valley IL. During this tour
(should take less than 10 minutes) you will need to gather some
dates off of the landmarks that are all within 100 feet of the
starting point. You will use these dates and some simple math
to figure out the location of the cache. The actual
cache is in a very nice forest preserve close to Cherry Valley ~
3.5 miles away.
The cache container is a small Tupperware container with your
standard items in it. The way that the container is hidden
was Emily’s idea, so all of the initial trade items are based
on her very funny personality. There is a whoopee cushion,
fake teeth, fake spilled liquid paper etc. If you like the way the container is hidden, please
let Emily know in your log!

To calculate the cache location use the following formula
N 42° AA.BBB
W 088° CC.DEF
AA = Take your TIME with this one. Once you have the year
subtract 2 from the last two digits and then divide by 2.
BBB = By now you must be tired. SIT DOWN to figure this
one out. Calculate the age and subtract 18. Then put
zero before that number.
CC = wow… two in row… you are on FIRE! Find out
the correct year and subtract 2 from the last 2 digits.
For the last three numbers you will need to MILL around for a
while.
D = the last digit of the year
E = the second digit of the year divided by 2
F = the third digit + the fourth digit
I have updated the terrain rating to 3 because it may change based
on time of year. Today on 4/23/2011 Emily and I had to take off our
shoes and socks and hike up our pant legs to walk across a small
stream. The stream was about 10 feet wide and about 6-8 inches
deep.
