Geocache Description:

A micro hidden near Sprig "Lake"

Back when I was a kid, there used to be a lake here. It was stocked with fish, and only kids were allowed to go fishing. You pretty much just had to drop a hook in the water and you'd catch one!

From an article in the Gilroy Dispatch:
"The county announced in April 2002 that it would close the man-made lake and reconfigure it back to a naturally-flowing portion of Bodfish Creek, due to potential impacts on habitat for threatened steelhead trout."

It has since been renamed to the Sprig Day Use Area.

Parking is free here, although unless you are pulling a horse trailer, you can't park at GZ, but it is a short walk across the bridge from where autos are allowed to park.

Park hours are 8am to Sunset.
