This cache is in an area about 21 miles south of Deming, New Mexico in the Chihuahuan desert. Take State highway 11 south 20 miles out of town, and then head west briefly on Shannon lane. Then turn south on Montezuma road S.E. Cache is located on 20 acres of privately owned land that has good access from Montezuma road. I am the landowner, and persons engaged in geocaching have permission to enter the property to locate the cache for recreation.
The cache is not hard to find. It is in a small clear water tight box hidden in a small rock pile. It is only necessary to remove a couple rocks to uncover the box. Even so, please use reasonable caution while doing so and watch out for desert creepers and crawlers. There is a log book and pencil and some interesting swag, including a unique trackable item. The cache is near the north property line, so please respect the privacy of my neighbor to the north. The terrain is not bad and is basically flat. The bushes are thorny, but there is plenty of room to walk around them. Please respect the land and be careful. Most of all.... Have fun and enjoy yourself in the beautiful desert!
